New Date & Speakers for TEDxLiverpool

News just in about the Date change for Tedx Liverpool.

It is moving from the 1st November to the 7th. Plus there are extra tickets for the simucast lounge.

See the email received below for details.

Dear Liverpool TEDsters,

TEDxLiverpool has a new date. It will now take place Monday, 7 November. As before, our venue remains as FACT on Wood Street. Registration opens at 1pm and the main programme ends by 530pm.

Huge apologies if this change presents any inconvenience. We are hopeful that with more than 5 weeks notice that this should give you sufficient time to make any necessary adjustments so that you can still join us.

On the bright side we've just announced that we will have a talk from the Joint CEO & Founder of Saatchi Mobile, Dusan Hamlin. He'll be joined by Tom Scott, a speaking veteran from multiple Thinking Digital's, Ignite London and who will be one of the hosts for Sky 1 HD's brand new Gadget Geeks show set to premiere in November 2011. We've got 1 final speaker announcement to come which we'll be doing shortly.

Also, as many of you know, thanks to your amazing support TEDxLiverpool soldout very quickly. The new date will allow us to make available 50 additional tickets in a Simulcast Lounge located within our venue at FACT priced at a mere £7. Simulcast Lounge ticketholders will have the same access to the TEDxLiverpool venue and breaks as regular ticketholders. They won't have access to the main cinema but will be seated in The Box and enjoy a real-time feed of all the talks and videos so they're experiencing all the same great content we've got planned.

Obviously, let us know if the new date presents any issues for you. Please contact us on TEDxLiverpool@gmail.com

On behalf of the TEDxLiverpool team, FACT and our sponsors, our thanks in advance for your patience. Humbly, we are more committed than ever to ensure we deliver a fabulous TEDxLiverpool for you.

Regards,

Herb & Dave

Hope you can still make it.

Liverpool Barcamp 18th and 19th November 2011

It looks like there will be a Liverpool Barcamp this coming November at the DOESLiverpool space.

There hasn;t been one for a few years now and the only other information we have is what has been posted in the calendar.

"a group of enthusiastic people gathering to share their knowledge about technology and anything else they are interested in. presentations given by other attendees – and giving presentations themselves, presentations can be as formal or informal as you like."

You can go to any session you like, and if you don’t find a session interesting, you can leave and go to another. Everyone is encouraged to give a session or participate in whatever way they can. When sessions aren’t running, there’s usually other fun stuff happening: food and drink, games, conversation, silliness, and people hacking on projects.

Don’t be afraid, there’s lots of good stuff going on at BarCamp."

There will be more news where we get it.
